| Country course for Mongolia: Sampling Techniques with Applications SIAP organized a five-day training course for the National Statistics Office of Mongolia in September 2023. Course focused on building capacity to improve the sampling strategies. Course topics included overview of sampling techniques, equal and unequal probability schemes along with their use in complex surveys. The issues of variance estimation and non-response were also covered during the course of workshop. The program included interactive discussions to share country experiences, practical exercises to apply concepts and methods discussed, and limited lecture. |

| Regional training on Consumer Price Index, 25-29 September From 25 to 29 September, a regional training course on Consumer Price Index was organized jointly by United Nations Statistical Institute of Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP) and International Monetary Fund (IMF). Course aimed at building capacity to improve the compilation of consumer price indexes (CPI) that reflect international standards and best practice as described in the 2020 CPI Manual. Fifteen participants representing the National Statistical Offices, Central Banks and Ministry of Labours benefitted from this training. |

| Webinar Series on Selected Topics on Management Aspects of Capacity Building 27 and 28 September 2023 The Global Network of Institutions for Statistical Training (GIST) is a network of international and regional statistical training institutions, working together to build sustainable statistical capacities through efficient, effective, and harmonized delivery of training. The overall objective of the GIST is to facilitate collaboration among members of the network in the delivery of trainings on statistics in a more harmonized and standardized manner as well as to improve effectiveness of these trainings through maximizing their outreach. One of the GIST task teams, task team 2 on Online gateway and e-learning community of practice is organizing two webinars to focus on approaches and recommendations for effective online trainings and certification of courses. |

| Subregional Training on Gender Statistics for Monitoring the SDGs, 29 October to 3 November 2023, Daejeon, Republic of Korea For the second time, SIAP collaborated with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), UNWomen Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality (CENTRE) and Statistics Korea in the conduct of a subregional training on producing and using gender data to advance gender equality.
