Subregional Workshop on Data and Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for High-Level Official Statisticians

The workshop will bring the heads and senior managers of the national statistical offices (NSOs) of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan together to exchange experiences and lessons from national SDG data readiness assessments, mappings of national indicators to the global framework, and the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of National Strategies for the Developments of Statistics (NSDSs)

Statistical Leadership Training of Heads of NSOs

[14 - 15 February 2017, Chiba, Japan]
The Statistical Leadership Training aims to develop and enhance the leadership skills of new NSO heads towards effective leadership of statistical offices and the national statistical system at large. It also aims to improve confidence of NSO heads as statistical leaders in their national statistical system, to build sense of accountability, and create networks among statistical leaders in the region. The training will also be a venue for shared learning of experiences and practices in leading and managing their statistical offices and in their leadership role in the national statistical system.

Third Regional Training Course on the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS)
[15 - 17 November 2016, Chiba, Japan]
The training course is geared towards introducing participants to the new NSDS guidelines developed by PARIS21 specifically on the design and implementation processes, and links to existing norms, tools and good practices. It will likewise provide an overview of the Sustainable Development Goals and the survey planning and costing tool designed to aid in financing the implementation of the NSDS. The training aims to strengthen the capacity senior managers of national statistical offices responsible for strategic planning.

Second Sub-regional Workshop on Data and Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) [Central Asia]
[26 to 30 September 2016, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan]
The subregional workshops, through facilitated discussions, will provide national authorities with the tools needed to implement the Goals. They will ensure that the Goals and proposed regional vision are aligned, enabling concrete action at subregional and national levels. The workshops also will create focused plans to assist in the integration of the regional vision into national strategies and forums.

Regional Workshop on Improving Use of Administrative Data in Production of Official Statistics: Role of Statistical Register Systems
