Research-based Training on Statistical Data Analysis for Maldives Phase 2: Guidelines and Statistical Methods for Census Thematic Analysis

The Statistical Institute for Asia the Pacific (SIAP), in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Government of Maldives, will conduct the Research-based Training on Statistical Data Analysis: Getting Census 2014 Data Edited, Tabulated and Analysed, Phase 2: Guidelines and Statistical Methods for Census Thematic Analysis from 31 May to 5 June 2015 in Male, Maldives.
The one-week face-to-face training course will focus on statistical and research methods for data analysis, and development of research proposals for census analysis. Main topics of the course will be, (i) strategy for publishing census results, (ii) statistical methods for analyzing census data, and (iii) preparing analytical frameworks for chapter writing.
The course is a component of a multi-phased 4-month research-based training that combines face-to-face and online training modalities and aims to produce thematic analyses of the census.
This face-to-face course will be preceded by one-week e-learning course focusing on basic statistical methods for analyzing census data, which will be conducted from 17 – 24 May as a part of phase 1. At the end of the e-learning course, participants will take an on-line test, and successful participants of the phase 1 will be qualified for phase 2 of the research-based training.
